At the recent March Sub Committee meeting, the Trustees awarded 55 grants totalling £42,000. These included:
- £500 to Brain Tumour Support for their work supporting people affected by brain tumours in Devon and Cornwall.
- £250 to Live Music Now for professional music performances in Torbay schools.
- £500 to Handicapped Children’s Action Group towards a specialist buggy for an autistic child in Cornwall.
- £250 to Otterton Parish Council towards a defibrillator for community use in the village.
- £500 to Farm-Able Project for rural work experience for recovering ex-service personnel in Devon.
- £250 to Launceston Cricket Club towards the purchase of a ride-on mower.
- £1,000 to St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth towards its community palliative care support.
- £1,000 to Community Housing Aid towards its Nightstop Devon project, helping homeless young people.
- £500 to Torbay Befriending Service CIC towards a mentoring service to adults with mental health issues.
- £500 to Citizens Advice South Hams towards an outreach project supporting those unable to access services online.
- £500 to Weare Gifford Village Hall towards a new disabled toilet.
- £250 to Sidmouth Science Festival towards venue costs.
- £1,000 to Exmouth Gateway Club towards respite breaks and day trips for members (adults with learning disabilities).
- £1,000 to Cornwall Air Ambulance towards a portable ultrasound device.
- £1,000 to Men’s Shed Ottery towards the set up costs of a new social/activity group for older men.
- £500 to Plymouth Foodbank to enable it to provide an interview/new job clothing for those on low incomes.
