At the Trust’s recent Sub Committee Meeting in January, the Trustees awarded 35 grants totalling £35,000. They included:
- £500 to Handicapped Children’s Action Group towards the cost of specialist equipment for two disabled children in Okehampton and Redruth
- £1,000 to Young Enterprise towards educating young people in Devon about employability skills
- £1,000 to Julian House towards the cost of running the Nightstop Devon service for young homeless people
- £2,000 to Hearing Dogs for Deaf People towards the cost of supporting recipients in Devon and Cornwall
- £2,500 to St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice towards the cost of a family support worker
- £500 to Merlin MS Centre towards the installation of hearing loops at the reception desk, meeting room and towards a portable loop.
- £500 to National Youth Choirs of Great Britain towards bursaries for aspiring young singers from low income families in Devon and Cornwall
- £1,000 to Action on Hearing Loss towards the community-based support service in Devon and Cornwall
- £250 to Drama Express towards the cost of delivering a ‘Play in a Day’ project for young disabled people in Devon and Cornwall
- £1,000 to Fire Fighters Charity to help support beneficiaries in the South West region
