At the Trust’s recent Sub Committee Meeting in March, the Trustees awarded 48 grants totalling £48,500. They included:
- £4,000 to Exeter Dispensary & Aid in Sickness Fund to meet the increase in grant requests from vulnerable people in Exeter
- £500 to Port Isaac Village Hall towards the construction of a new extension
- £5,000 to Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust towards the new helicopter appeal
- £1,000 to Rainy Day Trust towards the Apprenticeship Programme in Devon
- £3,000 to North Devon Hospice towards art therapy sessions for bereaved adults and children
- £500 to The Plough Arts Centre towards replacement stairs
- £500 to The Topsham School towards new books for older children who need help with their reading
- £1,000 to The King’s School towards new laptops for children with particular learning difficulties and challenges with writing
- £1,500 to Reading List Foundation towards 6 textbook scholarships in East Devon state secondary schools
- £1,000 to ExeAccess towards the purchase of new mobility scooters
- £500 to Torbay Symphony Orchestra towards the programme of school visits
- £5,000 to St Petrock’s (Exeter) towards specialist welfare advice
