Applications for the 27 November 2025 meeting are now closed.
Trustees may, at their discretion, review urgent late applications. The next meeting will be held in late January 2026 (date TBC). Deadlines for future meetings are listed on our homepage.

Updates to Our Grant-Making Process

Following a recent review, applicants are now asked to choose a category and sub-category on the online application form.
Our funding priorities remain focused on East Devon, in the following order:

  1. Young People (up to age 25)
  2. Animals & Environment
  3. Adults (aged 25+)

Each category includes sub-categories covering areas such as health, social welfare, education, training, sport, community work, and end-of-life care.
See full details and example projects [HERE] (opens in new tab).
If your project does not fit within these categories, we are unlikely to fund it.

Application Rules

  • Only one application per organisation per financial year (1 April–31 March).
Exceptions may apply for umbrella organisations supporting multiple discrete projects.
Withdrawn applications may be resubmitted at any time.
  • Apply online via our [Apply for Funding] page.
  • Most grants range from £1,000–£5,000. Larger awards are rare and typically go to long-term local partners.
  • As demand is very high, please also seek other funding sources.
  • The Trust does not fund:
    • Any organisation involved in animal experimentation or research.
    • Festivals (for the current financial year).
    • Works to religious buildings or projects of a religious nature.
  • Preference is given to smaller, local organisations rather than large national organisations.

What We Fund

Trustees are open to supporting core/running costs, but ongoing funding for the same purpose is unlikely.
We particularly welcome applications for:

  • Specific projects
  • Capital works
  • Equipment purchases

Please provide a clear breakdown of how funds will be spent. Incomplete financial details may delay consideration.

After the Meeting

Applicants will be notified of outcomes within a few days.  BACS payments may be made up to a month after the meeting, depending on whether sufficient funds are readily available.
Successful applicants will receive an email before BACS payments are made—please confirm receipt by email (check your junk/spam folders).

Grants of £2,000 or more require a short online report within six months or before reapplying—whichever comes first. A link will be sent in advance, and extensions are available if needed. More details [HERE].

Administration

All grants are paid via BACS. Please upload acceptable proof of bank details with your application (see Apply for Funding page).
Applications will be put on hold until this is received.

The Trust operates paperlessly and moved to new offices in 2023 (see footer for address). Staff partly work remotely, so email is the best way to reach us. We do not have an office phone number, and storage space is very limited so please refrain from sending any paper items to us.
